the gasgas farted to life after 3 kicks I promptly stalled it when I sneezed
from the dust in my helmet popping the clutch... maybe one of those cheater
auto clutches would benefit me a tad.... anyhow the traction to the wudz was
awesome the light rain from the night before gave just enough moisture to
let the knobs dig in. the trees shielded the dirt giving a slip & slide
effect if I wanted it yet enough traction to enjoy the scenery while
riding... (not having to pay strict attention to every rock root & limb...
the skunk weed was a boisterous crop... some new maple saplings were filing
in the clearing where the ice storm had fallen a few trees a while back... I
stopped by the creek to examine the fox, deer, raccoon & squirrel tracks...
a red wing black bird made a ruckus to let the rest of the woods know I'm
there <lol> like the snapping twigs & muffled pinging stink stink didn't
give me away... a Patch the redtail hawk circled over the corn field looking
for an easy catch. he dove down and had himself a little spring rabbit...
that was by the edge of the soy field.. I fired the bike back up and did
another loop and got stuck 1/2 way over a slimy log no worries long legs en
a tilt to the side got me on the other side without much angst. later I did
a little perimeter check and all is well in the tree stand & split rail
fence. tools used, none, gas used 1/2 gal, giggles used, dozens, small furry
animals harmed 1 (but not by me) all in all it was a good ride

any day on this side of the dirt is a good day.

The wind was a torrent of darkness among the gusty trees,
The moon was a ghostly headlight tossed on the cloudy breeze,
The trail was a ribbon of moonlight over the purple moor,
And the dirt biker came riding—
Riding—riding—
The trials rider came riding. Up to the pub. For a brew.
