I would like to upgrade my 1100 v-star rear shock spring to a 1000 lb
roadstar spring.
open to ideas on how to change spring,i dont have access to spring tool like
shops have.
anys ideas?

i have changed springs with a huge vise and some safety wire. Compress the
spring with the vise, tie it off on all 4 sides with the safety wire, Back
off the vise and you should be able to remove the spring. Use the same vise
and wire method to compress the new spring to put it on.
