Hey,

I'm moving to the BI in 2 weeks and I'm wondering if there is someone
out there who can show me some roads, who wants to talk bikes, hangout
etc

Hello from Maui. There are a couple of occasional posters, I believe, on
the big Island. There's also a funky race track, and NHRA. just follow the
noise.

I havent been to the big island in 20 years...no industry, some fishing
and a big cattle ranch and one fair sized shopping mall. Its no doubt grown
but not enough to support a bike shop. There must be some bikers over
there...Id guess maybe 5 or 10. ...maybe a few sport bikes... Id call some
of the bike shops on Oahu and ask whats up on the big island you could
probably get some fast phone numbers that way.

There is a safeway store on the island you could call there and ask
whomever answers about sport shops in the area you could call...its probably
still a fairly tight community you should be able to get some answers...see
if they can give you the number of the Harbor master...he would know who is
riding bikes or not. My guess some of the fishing boat crew have bikes.

The roads are very nice...and the views stunning all around the island
especially on the north side..

dont pick up any pieces of lava though to take with you...leave them all
lay. You could get the spirits of volcano upset and have serious trouble an
apparently not entirely empty myth.

I'm still looking for Pele. Apparently she hitchhikes, and you can get
good luck by picking her up. you can also get bad luck by picking her up,
and sometimes you're in big trouble if you just look at her. just like a
woman Wink
