Worse for the afternoon/evening commute.
Imagine, 2007 levels of traffic reduced to the 1940s street grid!
Actually, I believe there's a freeway route around for some of the
traffic, but it's going to be hellacious even so.

Today doesn't sound so bad. They offered free rides
on BART and the ferries and reported lighter than usual
traffic. San Francisco has always been famous for an
abundance of ferries. >> Stay informed about: reroute your journey |

haha.
Actually, the opening of the Golden Gate bridge caused a lot of the
ferries to get all mad an so they left in a huff and a puff.

Yeah, I think the total capacity of all the ferries running today is
about the same as that of one or two of the ones I rode between SF and
Oakland as a kid. They were big -- drive on-drive off ferries.

Looks like it may have had more to do with the truck than with the
driver: http://tinyurl.com/2t645u
Until someone demonstrates driver error as the cause. I intend to keep
an open mind. The trucking firm would appear to have other problems.

Seems the guy had actually turned his life around pretty well up to this
point. Are you saying that he should have been denied an opportunity
because of mistakes made years ago?
I guess that there is no hope for anyone with a record in your eyes.
My daughter is dealing with this attitude right now. She wants to do the
right thing and get her life on track. No one will hire her.

Perhaps he should not have been denied a truck license on account of his
long past drug use. He certainly should not have been certified to haul
flammable substances until he had several more years of experience
hauling less-dangerous cargo. Had he dumped a truckful of sand that
night, it would have been a mere inconvenience.

Perhaps driving a truck isn't the best pursuit for his life.
Or flying airplanes, driving a school bus, that sort of thing. There are
jobs that won't put other people's lives in danger.
So he was trying to turn his life around. Fine. But, look what happened.

How nice of you to hang him before the trial. The investigation is still
going on and he has NOT been charged with anything Barb. Sure would not
want your "open" mind on my jury.
