Hello,

Can somebody help me with checking out the vin on the motorcycle?
I am currently involved in the buying the motorcycle in PA and moving it
to NJ. Yamaha FZR600 1993 with VIN: JYA3HHE05PA054262. I've tried to
check out the motorcycle history before I pick it up, however, running
it through Carfax did not return any history, although it did tell you
the correct model/maker. It said "Yamaha On Road Motorcycle : No Record
found"

Hem...is there's any other place I can find out about the motorcycle?
Let me know, thank you in advance.

Paul

oktokie:
All I can offer for help is that your VIN # JYA3HHE05PA054262 checks out
as valid according to the VIN mathematical formula so you should be able
to get a history from CarFax or whomever.

Their online free history checks often won't verify the # (as I have
experienced this in the past) but the paid check will and give a history
if the number is valid.

How accurate is CarFax? If a bike is crashed and repaired at a place
other than a dealership, it won't show up in CarFax, will it?

I don't know but there is as reasonable chance you are right.
