The hotel in Manhattan was nice - but I've stayed in equally nice rooms
for a third the price elsewhere. I would not stay in Manhattan on my
own dime. $320/night every night for a year is $117,000 per year! And
that's *not* especially expensive for the area, and I booked almost a
month in advance. People there must make a LOT of money. Every toddler
I saw at a playground was with a nanny. Life in big cities consists of
nothing but making and spending money - long commutes, high prices,
eating at restaurants all the time. For me it's nice to visit but I
wouldn't want to live there.
