I am checking my cylinder heads, NOW! Clymer says the valves cannot be
ground.

Don't know if I need to, but I need to know!

Both look smooth, in & ex, ie uninterrupted contact all round.

Inlet is metal coloured , exhaust is black coloured.

<40K and generally good nick.

Erm, I'll wait for an answer.

TIA UKRM!

Just another BOL really. Better than Haynes, but still a BOL.

Less than 40k and you've stripped a BMW engine? I'm not surprised you
haven't found anything wrong.

I'd just get some fine grinding paste and do a few spins only per valve.

So why would you?
If there is no pitting and no leaks through if you fill the combustion
chamber with paraffin don't worry. Some boxers have a dodgy welded 2 piece
exhaust valve thats worth replacing at 40k mind.
