Faster acceleration and better braking. Also more consistent overall
performance - especially if coupled with automatic train operation. I
accept the latter is much more likely on metros rather than the main
line. While I couldn't quite imagine a diesel version of the Central
Line I think such a variant would struggle to emulate the high speed and
consistency of operation achieved by the electric version.
