I have an old one (2004) but there is not much difference.

Cons:

1) Soft paint. A maintenance man who assembles them at the dealership
said the paint is even softer this year. He says he must be extra careful
not to scratch the paint with a fingernail.

2) Heat problem. Poorly engineered cooling air flow heats the tank, seat,
upper structural members, and the rider. Nice in the winter but miserable
in the summer.

3) Top heavy. Difficult to control when stopped or nearly stopped. Easy
to drop when stopped and expensive to repair. (Just under $4000 and the
bike wasn't moving when dropped.) If you have short legs, don't buy it!

Pros:

1) Powerful. The most responsive bike I've ever owned. Low end torque is
unbelievable. One of the few big shafties that will wheelie and the only
one that I've ever seen that could pull the front end up in a turn.
(Dangerous!)

2) Quiet. All that power and it doesn't attract police. All you hear is
the fuel and water pump whine.

3) Handling and Comfort. Both are excellent for a "sport" bike. It's
comfortable and it loves the twisties. I catch myself doing 60 on tight
Interstate entrance/exit ramps that is a bit dicey above 40 on a cruiser.
And that the cagers take at 25.

4) Long Legs. It gets between 45 and 50 MPG and has a six gallon tank. And
for some strange reason, it seems to get the best milage when rolling
fast (80 on the Interstate.)

I did the Pacific Coast Highway between Moro Bay and Pacifica on the
FJR last June. It's a great bike for touring the twisties.

WOW!

Get one, You'll be amazed and in love immediately. Best ride I've ever had
in 40 years of motorcycling. The powerband and acceleration are habit
forming (0 -100 in 2.9 seconds or 30km/hr to 120 km/hr in second gear and
two heart beats) and the handling is amazing. More power and better
handling than a beamer. More nimble than an AT1300. Quiet and smooth on
long rides that melt the miles away and the brakes will surprise you with
how well they work. When you take the side bags off the bike looks like a
very clean, upright sitting sports machine (more than can be said of other
supper sports touring machines.)

Ride safe

A perfect combination of power, performance, handling, comfort and storage.
I've had an FJR 1300 for over a year and love it. I previously had a Honda
ST1100 and the FJR is far mor balanced.

Huh? When I first read this I started to call bullshit but then I saw the
km.... After looking up the conversion this is 0-60 (about).

I rode an FJR on Friday and it was great. A buddy from work actually called
me and asked if I wanted to ride his bike home. He followed me (or tried)
on my Venture. Very nice bike but I still like my RSV.

It still won't make it. It'll come close, but the best recorded times
I've seen were 2.98 for 0-60... It will fly, though. It took me a month
to learn to be gentle when twisting the grip. The best thing I like is
the braking. It brakes better than any other bike I've been on...
Luckily!
