Ah, indeed... I recall following a friend back from a disco at Sandhurst
Village Hall, him on a Tiger Cub, me on a Honda 125, tearing along the
country lane. We were both slightly tipsy and I'd forgotten to turn my
lights on. There was plenty of light pouring out of the front of the Tiger
Cub so I didn't really notice that there was none coming out of mine. Then
a fuse died and suddenly everything went very dark indeed. I just about
managed to stop without too much drama but he went on a little further and
it took me a while to find the exact spot where he had demolished a section
of hedge and gone arse over tit into a ploughed field.

Yes, happy memories...

A string of Capris, Mini Cooper Ss and a 2300 Vauxhall Magnum Coupe plus
numerous biggish bikes had been abused by me at that age.

If his riding is up to the required standard and he's passed his test
then it's a good idea.

An R6 isn't a track bike with lights and a plate, racers have to carry
out a lot more modifications than that if they want to be competitive.

The more people getting on bikes the better.

If he crashes then maybe someone will have another look at the whole
DAS thing and alter it a bit to try and make sure riders are a bit
more prepared for the road when they're allowed to buy whatever they
want.
