Post subject: Anyone has any experience with electronics/fuel injection problem with the STX1300?

Hi, Guys,

While doing some research on the STX1300 with the local mechanics,
I've learnt that there are many incidences of STX1300 with all kinds
of electronics related problem. One is the blinking of the FI warning
light at around 8-90 mph. Others include symptoms that looks like a
'hang' of the onboard system, which required a reset by disconnection
and reconnecting the battery terminals.

Does any of the fellow STX owners has any experience with such
problems? Or perhaps the local tropical heat has rendered the
electrical components less reliable?

I'm sorry. You have mistaken rec.motorcycles for a group that
discusses motorcycles and motorcycle technology.

This group is actually about emerging trends in tush ornamentation and
how to remove a small rodent from one's anus, should it somehow get
stuck where the sun doesn't shine.

No knowledge of the STX1300, but what kind of shape is
the battery in ? Voltage fluctuations are a great way to make
electronics glitches. Seems like a starting point anyway.

Suggest you might also want to ask on rec.motorcycles.tech
which is more about real tech problems.

Smile I share your frustration with the amount of spam in the group.
Gone were the good old days when usenet was a such a well of useful
information. Smile Noentheless I sense there are still some good old
faithful old time usenet users around Smile

Hi,

Thank you for the great suggestion - I've just copied the post to
rec.motorcycles.tech to see if anyone over there has any experiences.

Batteries were replaced, and I understand that even the electronics
module was replaced twice. It's probably due to a problem somewhere
else on the bike. Without a factory repair manual, it's hard to debug
the problem. It doesn't help when the local agent claimed that Honda
no longer allows the factory repair manual to be sold.
