before I went out for a ride today, I thought I'd give the Tiger a bit
of a wash. When I was cleaning it, I noticed there seemed to be a bit
of play in the right footrest/brake lever - so I gave it a bit of a
shake....
....it was so loose, the top allen bolt actually fell out and rolled
away and the bottom one appeared to be only 1 or 2 turns away from
doing the same!
Anyway, tightened it up, no worries, and now the "odd feeling" that I
thought was to do with the brake lever or actuator has gone away -
obviously it was just the whole plot shifting when pressing the lever.
Slightly silly design by Triumph, BTW, insofar as to tighten the
bottom bolt that holds the footrest/brake plate to the frame, you
actually have to unscrew and partially relocate the brake lever
itself, as when it's all bolted together, the bolt is obscured by the
lever.

My front brake lever has done the same a couple of times. Look down...
and the sodding bolt is sticking almost out.
At least you weren't riding at the time.
