Help needed on 650 Heritage Spec. - I ahve a 1982 Heritage Special in excellent condition with about 8K miles. After sitting all winter in the garage I couldn't get it started. The dealer mechanic told me the CDI box is shot and no longer available from Yamaha. Any ideas to get it going?

79 XS 1100 special-fuel problem - It appears that I have a problem with the petcocks on both sides of the tank. Both of them let fuel flow in both the on and reserve According to the manual this should not happen. When I torn them to the on position the fuel fills up..

I live in Toronto. Had a replacement exhaust on order for 5 months before
the dealer said they can't get them...

Anyone have any ideas? Anyone in Rochester..or Buffalo with stock?

use your stock headpipes (assuming they are in servicable condition) then
you have a million options. JC whitney, ed allyn in woodstock new york, and
a scad of other places offer universal replacement mufflers in numerous
sizes and styles. With a little creativity any one of a number of other
model/make mufflers can be made to fit also, and wont look altogether goofy
either. Hell my wife retrofitted a stock evo harley muffler to our old
beater chevette when the stock exhaust fell off at the catalytic. Use your
