I hear the valves need adjusted often, and it's a
difficult job. Is this true?

Is this bike easy or hard to maintain?

I hear about every 4000 miles or so and after it's checked, it might not
even need adjustment...the 4000 miles is the suggested checking period. not
too often unless you're riding alot everyday.
Not a difficult job to do, several people with no mechanical experience have
done it themselves with no problems... Bike is easy to maintain and a great
running bike...<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

Change the pipes to V&H or Jardine, put a Barons Big Air Kit on and
re-jet the carbs and you're pushing about the same power as an 1100 stock.
