Archived from groups: alt>motorcycles>yamaha (more info?)

Andy's just stripped the XJR bars off and put on Renthals for me.

Everything fits fine but the throttle will not return freely. No matter
how much it is jiggles and adjusted, it will not twist free. Even with a
dose of WD40.

Well, that is to say it will when it's loose in a certain position that
will foul the brake lever if it stays there but adjust it to how it
should be, tighten the bolts up and nothing...

The old bars have two wee holes where this twisty part (push me pull you
cable ends) sits which might be needed.

Any ideas?

PS Haynes says "Simply fit plug A in slot B..." Harrumph.

BROATS (pl. n.) A pair of trousers with a career behind them. Broats are
most commonly seen on elderly retired army officers. Originally the
broats were part of their best suit back in the thirties; then in the
fifties they were demoted and used for gardening. Recently pensions not
being what they were, the broats have been called out of retirement and
reinstated as part of the best suit again.
