'Ere, someone was asking after you not so long ago. Can't remember who
it was though.

How's it going, still doing the skydiving?

I think was the Ant.

Pretty good. Errm quick summary reads CBR nicked, trip to oz over
Christmas, a week in Chamonix and a four day bike trip last month to
Skye and thereabouts around Oban with some ex-skydiving mates who also
have bikes. Excellent McAdam around there, but a long way.

Funny you should mention that was up at the DZ last weekend sorting
out reserve packing and dealing with the paperwork.

Don't suppose you seen my CBR?

Ooh, Skye. My Aunt & Uncle run a B&B over there.

I was actually planning one for next week, but then some dozy bint in a
Vitara reversed into my '6R. It's still roadworthy, but not really
trackworthy until it's fixed.

Next Brands excursion planned is a Pace Day with the European Superbike
School on 18th July, so hopefully the insurance companies will have
sorted things out by then. If not, Sally's said I can use her CBR400,
which could be a laugh.

You got one planned then?

Bummer. You could ask they add the cost of hire bike to the claim
as they are taking so long.

Is this the one for 89 quid ? it has to be the Indy circuit, still a
huge bargain.

I can't see how they make any money. I'm seriously tempted to come
along to one of their events, have heard a couple of good reports.

Well thinking about it - I did Brands GP last year with CSS and really
liked it. There plenty of stuff in the Indy part to keep me busy.

I work in Brentwood so M25 permitting and a early departure from work
would mean I could be there just before 5.

Was it with http://www.focusedevents.com/ ?

Looking at the booking numbers they don't seem over subscribed, so my
cunning plan is to check weather and book it at work on the day.

Do they check the noise limits? The Mille race can is probably in the
three figure db mark.

Hmm.. a week's probably not 'so long' in their eyes. Will try that for the
ESS day in July, if it's not sorted out by then.

Yep - I think it was a cock-up on the website though. They were advertising
a 'phone price of £125, with a 10% discount for booking online, but
published the price as £89, so who was I to argue?

> I can't see how they make any money.

The other people on the day are paying £350 each for classroom sessions and
on-track instruction, that's how. We just go on the track while they're in
the classroom. Still 5x20min sessions though.

> I'm seriously tempted to come

I was very impressed last time - the 'pace' format ensures a lot more flying
laps, as you're rarely stuck behind someone. You're also pretty much
guaranteed a good tussle with someone of a similar pace. And you get to find
out your times afterwards, which is fucking addictive. Oh, and they don't
stop the session after minor crashes, which is also excellent.

I really enjoy the Indy. Not the most challenging track, but then I'm not
the best track rider in the world, and now I've learnt the circuit well, I
can concentrate on the finer points of my riding. I went on the GP circuit
once, and found it really daunting. And crashed.

Yep - that's who all the evening events I've done have been with. Always had
a pretty good experience with them, although they're not a patch on ESS.

Never had my bike checked, and it's a 105dB limit, so you're unlikely to get
close.

I might do an evening to get to know the Indy so we'll start there me
thinks.

Superb. Thanks for that.
