Archived from groups: alt>motorcycle>sportbike (more info?)

I am seriously considering this bike but just wanted to know if anyone out
there can help me pick out the year I want. I am either looking at the 2001
or the 2003 bike. I know the differences listed but just wanted to know if
anyone out there can give me there opinions about them. I am wondering how
much faster and better the 03 is compared to the 01.

thanks

P.S. this is not my first bike....so let's not start a flame. I have owned
many GSXR's in the past and currently own one now.

I"d go with the 03. These are only getting better.

No comparison. The 2003 GSXR 1000 K3 is incredibly stable at speed. The
radius mounted brakes are far more effective than on earlier years, and the
fuel injection is smoothed out. The reach to the bars is less, the tank
is lower, and therefore you can go further with less stress. If you're
choosing between one of these two overkill motorcycles that you will never,
ever, be able to use, definitely go with the 2003.

Dont you have anything better to do with your life than to add you smart-ass
comments....this group would be a better place if you all just went
elsewhere.
