I picked up a 91 ZX11 at an auction, and I can't figure out how to get
the seat unlocked. The key turns but it doesnt unlatch. Is there
something I'm doing wrong, or a secret button?

Anyone?

I've had the same problem once on my old R6. In my case, the seat was
mechanically stuck and impossible to remove.

sounds like the cable from the lock to the seat release is either detached
at the latch or broken

There's no cable on the C2 model; the lock, when turned, pivots a bar
rearward and it will disengage from the latches on the bottom of the
seat. My C1 model had issues with this also; sometimes it didn't seem
to unlatch all the way. Have you tried turning the key all the way
clockwise, and while it's held in that position, pulling rearward on
the seat?
