Well, I have managed to get the Daytona exhaust a bit grubby, whats the
best to polish out the patchy dullness?

Also, anyone got any recommendations for a good polish for the black paint?

It does. It's good on brass, as well.

Solvol Autosol will bring it back up shiny again, no matter how old it
is.

Mer. Best polish I've found for black paint yet.

I use citric acid to remove any iron contamination first. Then 6 micron
diamond paste on a hard cloth followed by 1 micron diamond paste on a
soft selvyt cloth. This will produce a virtual mirror finish. You could
go for a sub-micron diamond, but frankly you'd only see the difference
under a microscope.

Hypothetically, I would nick mine from the materials lab at work. You'd
have to buy yours from a metallurgical consumables supplier if you
wanted a consistent diamond particle size.

You did ask what's the *best* .
