Triumph is one of the rare exceptions that allows test rides. Maybe you should
see if they have a demo model.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

I don't get this "allow test rides" thing, everywhere I've been lets me test
ride except Ducati. But if they have a used one they'll let you take it.
Funny thing, I wanted to test-ride a 996 with about 900 miles on it, being
sold on consignment. I asked for a test ride, they had to call the owner
first. He wanted to drive along behind me. I told em to F-off and bought a
bike in Bellevue instead.

I got a comment for you. Buy a Speed Triple used for $4500 locally and
call it a day. The insurance is the same if not cheaper and the triple
is what Triumph is all about, unlike any other. While the 600 is
another whiny 600 minus the top end rush that comes from having actual
bodywork.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

Things are different in your neck of the woods, way different...in a good way.

Look at it from the owners perspective. Would you want a bike you're trying to
sell joy ridden by every squid boy in town? Dry clutches can only withstand so
much abuse ya know.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

All dealers in my neck off the woods will let you test ride anything you
want ... IF ... you leave the asking price as a deposite before you go. You
break it ... You bought it.

Ask for a test ride. I've always gotten one if I ask.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
