Been talking to Classic Bike about bashing old dirt machinery around.
I mean, actually doing some trail riding in addition to road riding.
They're trying to put together a group of bikes. We've got my SL125,
someone with a Laverda Chott (a rare beast indeed), and (I think) a
Honda XL250 Motosport. But there may be room for another, Timo.

Anyone else out there have a ShiteOldTrailie in coherent nick, and
fancy doing something this autumn?

I know a bloke with a Wassell if that's any good. A dirt bike rather
than trials but certainly Shite and Old.

I know of 2 people in the UK with running Chotts, one from Aylesbury &
the other is in Cheshire (and he was talking about using his for the
Edinburgh Trial).

For some reason the idea of trying the XLV on mud doesn't appeal Smile

What's the timeframe? Mine still isn't MOT'd and as you know I'm off on
holiday next week.

That said, unless the other one is as original (less the tank...) as
mine, I guess we can always try to smuggle a picture or two of it into
the mag on account of "this is what it should look like".

This might be the excuse I'm looking for to put an off-road tyre on the
spare wheel of the Ural. Depends on how much weirdness Classic Bike can
stand. Mind, they featured a Russian outfit back in the mid-eighties...

Does it need to be road legal and does it have to be a trailie? I can
get a nice Bultaco Sherpa there it could be made legal as it is
registered just not taxed, insured or having a valid MOT

The third wheel has drive, mostly, but the other two don't. You can't get
2WD with a left-hand chair, on account of the shaft drive being on the other
side.

Well, we're after trail bikes not trials bikes, but it could be worth a
giggle.
