Do they attract deer that way?

It's easy to say a war is so important your neighbor should go fight it for you.

Hmmm, You must have a lot of faith.

Faith that the whistles make any sound...
Faith that if they make a sound the sound is louder than your bike...
Faith that if they make a loud sound it is a frequeny that deer can hear...
Faith that if they hear the sound they will run...
Faith that if they run they run *away* from you...

I just don't have that much faith.

My current (untested) deer avoidance philosophy is to aim for the
bugger. I'm hoping that s/he'll try to get out of the way and
there's less likelyhood of a collision of only one of us is doing
evasive maneuvers.

I thought that attracted them?

Ever have a pedestrian freeze up on you and wind up leaping in front of
your bike? I have. I sometimes worry about the deer that panics and does
the same thing. So far, I've been lucky, in that I've avoided a cow,
killed a ground squirrel, and knocked over a dog at very low speed,
which got up and ran away. No deer, please. Nam myoho renge nodeer kyo!

Wow! I haven't heard that Nichiren Shoshu chant in 30 years.
Another group-think sect, not unlike Scientology.

Heh heh. I lived in Santa Cruz for a while. There were chantin' hippies
there who wouldn't mind keeping a lost wallet full of cash, because they
chanted for rent money.

Nah...turning around to look behind you apparently is a bad idea...
as is trying to take pix of the guy in back of you...

NO! What up? We don't get that down here, or at least I've never seen
it. That darn Xenu, he has no respect for the law. He uses renegades.

Operatin' Thetan Three and Operatin' Thetan Four puttin' out
a ragin' fire a mile away!

Can Doc Wong do this? "I'm hyper excited!"

Can John Travolta do this? "Ohmygawd!"

Can Tom Cruise do this? "I'm not coming out of the closet,
Nicole!"

"E.N.L.T.C. or Elite Ninth Level Transduction Ceremony
is the most solemn and expensive Scientology wedding
package available and not surprisingly the soon-to-be
Mr. and Mrs. Cruise will be partaking in that.
E.N.L.T.C.s are rarely performed because of their cost
and the demands they make on bride and groom. Both have
been following three days of prayer, fasting, electronic
money transfers, high-colonic cleansings, full-body
Brazilian waxes, and anal bleachings that precede an
Elite Ninth Level Transduction Ceremony."
