Hmm. It depends how far it goes. I generally take a contrary view,
so when everyone around me is shouting for the local guy, I usually
shout for someone else. But really, I'd much prefer if bike racing
avoided the tribal loyalties that seem to afflict football (soccer).

Or any other top team sport in which the "local team" consists of a bunch of
overpaid hired guns that come from all places in the world... I never got
it. If the team was full of local talent, ok, differnet matter, perhaps I'd
see the fierce loyalty to the local team. The way it is, heck, it's just a
bunch of mercenaries playing for $$$, and their allegiance to the club's
history, tradition and such is very questionable, since they'll jump ship as
soon as they get a better offer...
In racing sports, in my opinion the top uys are fierce individuals that
spell "me" in capitals, and I kinda question they are the most nationalistic
individuals in the world...

This is totally excusable in a milieu that has "groupies". You keep
your trophy gal close enough that the guys see her and are
appropriately envious, but far enough away that if a hotter piece
wants to insinuate herself between the two of you it's easy to do.

I was really talking about swapping out Nakano for Jacque, who has
already been tossed back on the scrap heap. And I don't think Nakano's
year reflects his abilities, it's be far his worst performance of his
career, and has to be due to that bike, which must be a total mismatch
with his developed style. Hofmann, he's another matter, and has been
gone for a while now.
Can't wait to see how Hopkins

Certainly. So who are the "proven winner" candidates? In GP today it
might range from Melandri at the high end to Tamada at the bottom, with
Capirossi, Barros, Checa, Elias in between. Vermeulen has also won now,
but doesn't seem likely to move with Hopkins. Then there are Roberts,
Biaggi, even Gibernau, who all seem like a real stretch for various
reasons. So if this is accurate, one would think they're hot after Loris
and/or Marco, although Elias seems like a real possibility as well. >> Stay informed about: Sachsenring day 1 spoiler |

WSB ----SPOILER----- - What a great day!!! The racing in WSB and WSS was excellent, really entertaining watching the highest calibre of racing. Max B and James T were superb, race 1 was nail biting, Toseland was tenatious, not intimidated by Max at all but in the end Max..
