Post subject: SLl25 new seat
Archived from groups: uk>rec>motorcycles>classic (more info?)

There was an NOS seat for the Honda SL125 on Ebay recently, in France,
and I decided it would be a nice thing to have (talk about
unobtainium...), so I bid £105 and promptly got outbid. It went for
nearly 240 euros (!).

And then item 110176403726 came up. And looking closely at the pix, I
reckoned that it was, in fact, a proper NOS Honda item. The clues were
the pukka metal base and the "spikes" on the sides of the pan that hold
down the cover -you never, ever get them on pattern items.

Just received the item, and it is, indeed, a genuine original Honda
seat, and it is indeed brand new. A happy bunny am I.

So the seat presently on the bike (excellent nick, and nicely
re-covered) can go on Ebay. I'm reckoning it might make £50.
