Oh surprise, surprise .... NOT. Pipex have billed me for February.
When I rang for the MAC code in January I made sure to ask them about
the last bill and the person said that they would not apply a charge
for February. Not only did they charge but they charged for the whole
month. The gnome on the phone at customer (total lack of) service just
said that the account doesn't actually expire until the 13th of this
month and if I would like to call back after that then they may
consider a pro-rata rebate for the inexact billing period. When asked
why this wasn't already calculated I was told that this was a manual
process.

So watch out if you're leaving Pipex because unless you keep your eyes
open they will take money for days AFTER your account is closed. How's
that for creative accounting?

I went into the Pipex "My Account" and deleted all the payment details
in January. It didn't seem to stop them.

always sign up with a direct debit as *you* control this. Never give credit
card details for monthly subs, whether ISP, utility bills or magazine subs.

Tiscali (Pipex's new owners) appear to be aware of how bad their
service now is. See the first post in this thread.

Pipex also made it onto Watchdog the other night over their phone
slamming antics. Pipex claimed the case in the programme was a very rare
occurrence - lying bastards. They tried to do it to me, too.
