Archived from groups: alt>motorcycles>yamaha (more info?)

I just bought a 2000 Roadstar Silverado 1600. This the first bike that I
have owned and do not know a whole lot about servicing them. I have ordered
a owners manual and service manual, but they have yet to arrive.

Question - I am a big guy and when I have a passenger on, it tends to bottom
out on some bumps. How do I adjust the suspension and what tire pressure
should I have.

If you can help, please email me at
krisean.TakeThisOut@cfl.rr.com
Thanks
-Sean

I too am a larger guy and have the same problem.
I am getting ready to buy a heavy duty suspension spring for over the shock.
Factory is rated at about 700#, I think. A bud put a 1000# spring on and it
eliminated all problems for him.

great folks willing to answer questions and inform. Say howdy if you see me
