Archived from groups: rec>motorcycles (more info?)

Since I am so high and mighty and would never stoop to road rage I was
surprised to find it must be part of my primal self.

I was sitting at the lights on the KTM waiting to do a left turn (keep
left here) from my lane. A van came alongside me and clipped the end of
my handlebars. If I wasn't in neutral, I would have at least dropped the
bike as the bars jolted. As the lights were still red and the van had
stopped I moved forward and slapped the side of the van to get the
drivers attention (not quite sure what my cunning plan was?).....and the
beanie wearing bearded bogun looked over and gave me the finger!

Thats was when I got grumpy. As the lights changed and he moved forwards
I punched out his tail light (kevlar knuckles are awesome) much to the
delight of the guy in the car behind the van who was grinning and giving
the thumbs up. The van just accelerated away harder, I did my left turn
and it was then I realised I could hear my heartbeat in my ears. Stress!!!

I must not ride in town......

I must be doing something wrong. At least twice a week on my commute cagers
actually see me and wave me through 4 way stops. Even before I come to a
complete stop.

They are so damn courteous I know something is not right.

There are only two really good reasons for riding in town:

1. To get out of town.
2. To get home again after 1.

Oh, the wheels on Brian's bike go round and round!
Round and round, round and round!
Oh, Brian's bike wheels go round and round!
All around the town!

The driver of the van weaves back and forth
Back and forth, back and forth
The moron in the van weaves back and forth
All around the town!

The body of the van bumps Brian's bike
Brian's bike, Brian's bike,
The body of the van bumps Brian's scoot
All around the town!

Brian up and slaps the side of the van
Side of the van, side of the van
Brian up and slaps the side of the van
All around the town!

The driver of the van flips Brian the bird
Brian the bird, Brian the bird
The moron in the van flips Brian the bird
All around the town!

Brian gets mad and punches out the lights
Punches out the lights, punches out the lights
Kevlar's good for punching out the lights
All around the town!

Now Brian's bike wheels still go round!
Still go round, still go round
Oh, Brian's bike wheels go round and round!
But not around the town!

Did my basic at Fort Jackson in So Carolina a 1000 years ago, and have been
to Florida on business about 10 times in the past 20 years, 4 or 5 times for
pleasure in the same time period.

I'm not a coast "snob". Wink

LOL......thats the bit that pisses me off the most. I had no plan at all
and it could have ended up in court.....and I don't like court, the
novelty wore off years ago.

Big van, little driver, boxed in traffic.....little bike, big rider,
room to manouvre......it all seemed so right at the time.
Knowing my luck I'll get a call from the police to explain myself...... Sad
