I have a 2001 RoadStar, that was not affected by the recall. I feel lucky
that
I do not have to send my bike to the shop right at the begining of the
season. Many of the people I ride with have Road Stars that ARE affected by
this recall.
The thing that bothers me the most, is the way that Yamaha is dealing with
this situation. All the shops in my area have a waiting list a mile long.
Yamaha says
not to ride your bike untill this recall has been performed.
I understand that this is a big repair, (time consuming) but it seems that
Yamaha
could find some other way to deal with it. There must be some way to get
everyone taken care of in a timely fashion.
I still have to say, that even if my bike were affected.... I would still
tell anyone thinking about buying a Roadstar to GO FOR IT.
I've test driven the FatBoys etc. and sure Harley has done a great job
brainwashing everyone into believing that they must spend all their money
on a sub-standard cruiser... all that aside, I feel like the 1602 roadstar
has
more power, a better feel, and is an overall better value (and a better
bike!) than
all the others out there!
Put some Vance and Hines longshots pipes on there and replace the stock
seat.
You'll be good to go. Here is a photo of my bike.

Ride on,

i'm not a cruiser, i'm a rider. but id i were forced to buy
a cruiser, it would be a yamay. harleys are fucking lawn
boys for ride and reliability. for the price of a flatulent
boy, i would buy the biggest yamay, a vintage brit sport
bike and have lunch money left.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ --> >> Stay informed about: Road Star |
