Replacement engine for FJR1300?

If anyone has a good idea of where a friend of mine could find an
engine for a Yamaha FJR1300, would you please let me know? He toasted
his and needs to find a replacement.

I'm not sure of the circumstances regarding said toasting, but I'm
pretty sure that what ever he did voided the warranty on it.

I don't understand. Doesn't Yamaha carry replacement engines? Factory
rebuild maybe? Aftermarket 3rd party engines?

What would keep your friend from just walking into a Yammie dealer and
walking out with an engine?
Or ordering from somewhere else?
