I think he should try Tomahawk Racing slicks instead.

And he might well be the type to try it, unf. Hope not, though.
I don't approve of race tires on the street. They almost always suck
in the rain. Given sufficient time, they may indeed warm up, but
they're designed for a different set of conditions than encountered in
most street situations.

That's a fairer deal that he knows.
I can't believe you went to the track with a Rennsport front and M1
rear. I'd have paid money to watch you slide all over the place.
However, seems like it demonstrates one concept: with a
sufficiently-planted front, often we can "ride around" problems with
the rear. I, too, have pushed RS1/SC1 compound Rennsports/Pirellis
long beyond the point they should have still worked.
Keep in mind, however, how humbling (and impressive) it can be
watching a buddy turn still faster laps on street tires, riding a
comparable bike. Local Kawi shop owner Mike, on an '04 ZX6-RR, turned
slightly faster laps than me with Diablos mid-summer. I was pushing
harder, on Dunlop D208GP-As, but Mike's just that much faster. I had
a great time chasing (and rarely overtaking) him, but he'd come back
with a vengeance later in the lap.
"No Fear," indeed.

Metzeler Z6. Many FJR owners speak well of them. I'll try a set on
my Blackbird when the Bridgestones croak, probably late '05 at this
rate.
Someone weaned on Z6's, contemplating RS2s, should probably
immediately sell the latter to you and buy more Z6s.
