Having replaced a nearly new set of tyres due to a puncture you can imagine
how I feel having picked up another rear puncture in the new tyres only
1,000 mile later. I didn't really want to use a sealant (thats why I bought
new last time), but can't afford £90 for another rear so soon so I have gone
for the ultraseal option. I've used it before on the Bandit 1200 but the
Blackbirds performance is in another league. I'm trying to judge the mileage
so they are replaced just before the TT.....so thats about 250 miles per
week I need to do.

Snip

I'm convinced that they put magnets in the tyres now. Just so they can
attract those bloody nails and other metal bits that then burrow
happily into your tyres and then let you down.

I've wondered if I bought one of those extra powerful NIB magnets in
say a nice large size and mounted it midway under the bike whether it
would be powerful enough to collect the stray metal ware that is
flipped by the front wheel ready for the back to collect a puncture.

The beemer made a spirited attempt to throw me into a ditch at 70mph,
around lunchtime, after which I found one rear to be comprehensively
trashed, and devoid of air.

£200 later I had 2 new rear tyres. I can't believe I managed to find
somewhere open on a Sunday afternoon.

Tell you what - lend the bike to me and I'll commute my 80 miles a day on it
instead of using the car! SurprisedD

That should rack up the miles for you!
