Yeah, thought about barcodes, but that necessitates a barcode reader
whenever you want to book kit in or out. Often we issue units in the field,
so a barcode reader would be yet another bit of kit to lug around. I suppose
you could get the stickers with the barcode *and* asset number printed
underneath though...

But how would you read the asset number barcodes you'd then need to
affix to the barcode readers?

There was a guy zooming about at the Elefant with what appeared to be a bog
standard builder's wheelbarrow, except it had a little engine slung
underneath with a V-belt drive to the wheel. He was also wearing a pair of
in-line skates. I'm assuming he was using a twistgrip throttle, but it may
have been some sort of trigger throttle. I couldn't see any evidence of
