Ping Dan B. - Any word on the on your tire which caused the high side at Pacific? I'm heading out to a faster track this coming weekend, still on street tires, wondering how long someone can play with a hand grenade minus the pin and live to talk about it.

Ping------->x-lax - Hey Larry, My buddy wants heli bars for his 1995 Guzzi 1100 sport. Heli will not make him a set. Could you make them in your little shop? Let me know. Regards Mike

Ping Dan B. - You mentioned a trackday at the ghetto track here in a week or two? Which track is the track, who runs the day, rules, regs, etc etc. Curious.

Ping Bob - This was your tentative schedule. I suppose the bad news is if I were you I wouldn't want to ride Saturday or Sunday morning either. Maybe this just isn't going to work, out of deference to your age and wisdom. The problem as I see it isn't in my riding,.

I am good for Saturday.

Steamboat is best for me. Crested Butte is too far and Telluride
means riding across the desert. I did that once this year, I don't
need to do it again.

Steamboat is about 335 miles oneway, so I plan on leaving about 6am in
hopes of getting there around noon.

I haven't been to Steamboat in decades, so I have no idea where to
meet for lunch.

I've spent the night and eaten dinner there within the past 3 or 4 years,
but I can't remember even where that was other than it was Italian, and
right on the main downtown drag. Let me root around in Google and see if I
can find an easy to find place for us to meet up, then we can hurt down some
food from there.

350 miles for you, 150 for me. Sure you don't want to even that out a little
more? Or do you REALLY want a 700 mile day?

Yeah, it's going to a big day. But there isn't much between Steamboat and
the Utah border.

But I am open to suggestions. Rangely CO?
(http://www.rangely.com/restaurant.html ), Craig(
http://www.craig-chamber.com/), Maybell(http://www.colorado.com/city117)?
Anything south of US 40, like Grand Junction sends me across the desert.
And it's still too hot. I did 500 miles in June at 100+ and it almost
killed me.

Not that it makes much diff, but my google maps says 335 SLC to Steamboat.

I wish I could make it an over nighter, then I'd be pushing for Crested
Butte. That town is cool.

It's your call, I made a commitment and I'll stick to it.

Check out Google Maps, the satellite view for Craig. West side of town, along
40. Set back about the length of a fast food restaurant, I noticed what
looked like 2 big boxes right across the street from each other, and several
fast food places, one with a distinctive red roof by the big box whatever on
the south side of 40. Could be almost anything, but I'm betting one of
those new KFC's, Pizza Hut, something which has a red roof. Maybe.

I'll be doing the chain lube and tire pressure routine tomorrow as well,
plus installing one of the 3 windscreens I have to choose from. Whoa is me.

I will be on......THE MIGHTY MITE. In blue. Colorado plates, small black
tankbag, bald fat guy looking like a monkey humping a football riding
it.....
