Archived from groups: alt>motorcycles>yamaha (more info?)

I've one of these bikes and it's recently been torn down and cleaned/painted
and built back up. It's nearly complete except for a few things I need help
with.

Number one it the left piston does not fire, only when you remove the air
box pipe and choke the left carb with your hand then it will start firring.
The right side fires like a dream, to the untrained ear you'd think
everything was fine.

Secondly The front brake dosen't work, I took it off when I started the
teardown and I havent really looked at it yet.

Last but not least when you park the bike all the fuel runs into the
crankase. The petcock is vaccum operated and does not have an "off"
position. I have a brand new vaccum diaphram but don't know if that will fix
it.

Anybody can help out, it would be appreciaed.

Thx!
