Archived from groups: rec>motorcycles>harley (more info?)

The Banker and I were wondering if his '06 would play mp3s on a CD. So,
I went in, cranked up RealPlayer and sorted my 4 and 5 star ratings by
year, and loaded about 160 MP3s on a CD from '65, '66, & '67. Went out
to his bike, viola... played as advertised.
That's about 8 hours and 45 minutes worth of music. Very kewl, 2 CDs
and I'm pretty well set for any 1,000 mile day.

So, I'm looking at my collection of music and being a child of the '60s,
I know there are 2 distinct years for me that really capture a large
part of what I think is the best music... 1967 and 1970, with 1970 being
the larger of the two in terms of amount of really great albums.

Shipped and waiting...

Yeah, they made that change in '06. My '05 couldn't play 'em. Had an MP3
player in the windshield bag with a cable to the aux input. Lost that
cable when the bike was stolen. Shit, another 5 bucks I hadn't thought
of. Now I'm pissed. It's all your fault Len.

Not this one.
I'll be in Germany from the 16th to the 22nd.

Butt, I'll be at the cabin after the 22nd for maybe a week or more.
Or as Ulises sez; "The Bada-Bing Compound"...

ASSHOLE#104 Len
that'd be "Bada-Bing South"...

My brother just traded for an 07 Street Glide and kept wanting me to hook
him up with an MP3 player.... I kept telling him... "you don't need one, you
have a CD player that will play em" finaly I burned him a disk with 140
songs just to prove to him he could play 'em and actually use his handlebar
controls.. Well, now I am the official burner of CDs. Aint brothers great?
Now I have to try and teach the old guy about compression and bit rates

Your new one should be up-to-date, but Harley has updated the software
for the 2006 models.

details here:

<http://www.harley-davidson.com/cp/moar/en/software.asp>

It reads and displays the mp3 tag info, displaying song title and
performer.

It also shows the FM radio station additional information that many
stations broadcast in the signal.

I thought about getting a flash mp3 player when I bought the 06, then
realized I didn't need one.

As far as bit rates, over 80 mph you can't tell the difference.
