I live in Hull up here on the cold East Coast and we have plenty of crap
beaches away from civilisation. I want to learn my lad to ride as I just got
him a KX 100 and the beach looks a mighty fine place to learn. Its flat and
well kinda softish when he hits the dirt.
The problem is that somebody told me its illegal to ride on the beach but I
cannot find anything anywhere to verify this....Someone Help ...please.

If you keep the bike quiet with its original exhaust and keep his speeds
down, then it won't attract any attention or annoyance from other beach
users, especially if you can find a 'quiet' place, so it's unlikely you'll
be reported.

If someone official does approach you just plead ignorance and be polite.

I've gotten away with teaching my kids to ride in some places by following
the recommendations above, (especially in relation to keeping noise down),
and was only ever challenged once by an official who just happened to be
driving by. Just told me not to do it again, so I went somewhere else.

Hi Andy,
There is a farm between High hunsley cross roads & North Newbold (also do
clay pigeon shooting there too) that has a track to ride on, you pay £2 &
can ride all day.

He's right. I don't want my walk across the sands to be disturbed by a loony
child on an overloud crosser spitting sand in my face. However, if I see a
parent teaching their child to ride safely on a quiet bike well away from
populated places I will ignore it and quietly go on my way. Most places are
illegal and the advice on the next post down is good if you want to rip, tear
and make a lot of noise.
