Feel free to look as smug as you please.
...and, all the best wishes for your wedding.
I still recommend getting a bike, especially since you are planning it
to be a kind of learning experience.
Puting things off, so that you can get a bigger one later, always smacks
of something that may not happen. <shrug>
Obviously, folk see things in their own way, and I absolutely hate not
having a motorcycle available to me, and worry about people who have
bike licences but no bike.

Ditto.

But is it really wise to try and learn to ride two things at the same time?

Aye.

I hate to see regret.

The list of bikes will almost certainly be the same as the LAMs list
from NSW which has also been adopted by Tassie (and I think SA, if
they haven't I think it's on the cards). It only differs from the ACT
list (who were the first to implement it btw) by having a 660cc cap
(so you can't get a Harley for a learner bike even though most meet
the power to weight ratio).

The one of the main reasons I'm putting it off is because the list of bikes
I'll be allowed to ride on my learners hasn't been published yet. I'll
probably get something like a Suzuki GS450/500 but I want to be sure that,
having bought it, I'm allowed to ride it. That and I'm currently rather
skint. It's the getting a mortgage thing which is still new and I haven't
adjusted yet. >> Stay informed about: Learner legal bikes |

She also just pointed out that we really need a good selection of power
tools on the wedding registry. I'm feeling more and more comfy with this
commitment thing as each day passes. >> Stay informed about: Learner legal bikes |

[sad knowing face] Sorry mate; but it's all just a ruse to get the ring on
the finger!
Once she hears the "I do" you start hearing the "No you don't"!
