Post subject: Kelvin Franks 125cc Motorcycle
Archived from groups: rec>motorcycles (more info?)

am the proud owner of a hand built custom kelvin franks 125 road
race motorcycle, built sometime in the early 80's.I know that 3 of
these were built in the USA,with mine being the first of these. It was
brought to Australia when Kelvin returned here to live.Kelvin was
associated with Honda R&D in the USA. The bike is fully hand
built, with a box section alloy chassis and milled triple
clamps, rearset pegs, and box section swingarm. It has USD marzochi
forks
and 3 spoke Marchesini magnesium wheels. It was originally based on an
Aprilia design with a rotax 125cc engine fitted, all of the fibre
glass
is also custom made(fairing, side covers, seat). The brakes are fully
floating Brembo discs and calipers and the fuel cap has the cagiva
elephant logo on it.This bike was also featured in an unknown
motorcycle at sometime in the 80's.I am searching for any information
about the other 2 bikes built by Kelvin or anything related on this
subject.Thanks.
