Does any one know if KDX front end will fit a KMX 125? I use my KMX for off
road only and would like to try and upgrade the spindly front end. Are any
other KDX or KX parts compatible?

Thanks for any help offered

Jamie

Jamie - this is something that I wanted to do to my KMX200, but just giving the
forks a proper service and new seals made a world of difference. You can fit
the KMX200 front forks to your KMX125, but I suspect that they will cost you
the same price from a breaker as a set of upside-down forks from a KDX200/220.
Measure the height of the front headstock (between the top and bottom yokes)
and check that it's the same, and if you are confident enough then change the
forks AND fit the taper-roller bearings at the same time and the difference
will amaze you.

cheers

Thanks for the info, these origional forks feel in pretty good shape, they
dont produce any head shake, they just bottom out too easily.

I have not got a set of forks to measure against, I have seen some on ebay.

Thanks again

The forks on the KMX200 have an air-valve on the top which allows you to pump
them up slightly (with Nitrogen preferably, to avoid contamination ) and this
then pre-loads the forks to help the springs over rough ground.I've only once
had them bottom-out, coming down some rock steps about 18" high in the
Pyrenees. There was no other way to get down them other than riding off the top
of each one, and the forks only bottomed on one of them, but I still kept
going. If you're getting them to hit the end-stop when riding on the road, then
the springs are shagged.

cheers -

Mark

I only use the bike off road, I am not very fast and not jumping hard or
high. I have inserted spacers to try and preload the springs, these are
about 1 inch long tubing. Maybe that is the clunk at the end of the travel
that I am feeling? I think I might remove them.
