The XR6 built in South Africa used a turbocharged version of the 3.0 V6
from the Scorpio, complete with the 4wd drivetrain. Excellent grin factor
on tarmac but "a bit of a handfull" when the tar ran out.
It started out as a 100-off homologation special but later went into
limited production becoming popular with the usual suspects for Ford's
XR variants.

Only a few personal imports made it to the UK.

Eh?

The Scorpio had a 2.8 12v or 2.9 12/24v Cologne V6.

The XR6 was a plain, non-turbo 3.0 Kent V6.

I reckon corny has a different understanding of the word "turbo". Like
Royal Enfield's "Turbo Twin" of the mid-'60s, which had a normally-aspirated
Villiers 4-stroke engine, but was supposed to be "turbine smooth". This
could be a possible explanation for all the bollocks about turbos he trots
out.

Heh, maybe.

I think I've read almost every post of his in this thread and I'm still
waiting for him to post something factually correct.

No it didn't.

Wasn't that quick, either, given that an Essex 3lt only puts out around
140bhp on a good day.

Having owned one trumps wikipedia.
1979 number 76 of 100 homologation specials.
Registration TRG 17812

The 1980+ production models came from the main Ford factory, so they may have
had a different spec.

I sold an NSR250 to the producers of some programme called Bugs that
had someone that was in Neighbours in it. Or something like that.

I know parading one's ignorance on the internet is a sport anyone can
play nowadays, but you really ought to be on the British team with an
entry like that. Well done!
