G'day everyone,
After searching through the RTA website I can't seem to find any information
on the legal requirements for warning and advisory labels on motorcycles
nowadays. Have they finally ditched the "Unleaded Fuel Only" idea now that
even LRP isn't available.
I'd like to remove the "Unleaded Fuel Only" and the other pictograms telling
you not to suck on the exhaust pipe, don't put avgas in the tank, don't ride
in your undies with a beanie on your head an so on. (You get the idea)
I suspect the pictograms can go but I have heard of people getting hassled
by the fuzz for not having the "Unleaded Fuel Only" sticker on the tank.
I'd be interested in hearing other people's experiences.
Cheers,
Drew.

The requirement for that sticker was removed in, umm... 2001? Google
this group for "unleaded fuel only sticker" and the info's there cos I
posted it a month or three ago.

Both the unleaded only and premium only stickers went to shit about 2 weeks
after me getting the bike so off they came. No trouble as yet. I'm the only
one who rides it so I'm the only one who puts fuel in it and I'm not about
to put anything other than premium unleaded in it anytime soon...

Cheers and thanks ZeeBee,
I ran through a couple of search results on Google, but didn't dig very
deeply.
Good news.
Cheers,
Drew.

I have found Zeebee's original posting here: <a rel="nofollow" style='text-decoration: none;' href="http://snipurl.com/52lg" target="_blank">http://snipurl.com/52lg</a>
But I can't seem to find any related press releases on the EPA website, nor
any relevant information on the RTA website.
Can anyone point me in the right direction? I may sound pedantic, but I
don't want to take a risk given the bad luck I've had dealing with the
Police in the past.
Cheers,
Drew.

That requirement is now legally dead.

Nicely painted tank, with hand painted coachlines, and a well fugly sticker
smack in the middle of the tank in stark white lettering. Looks like shite.
Off it goes.

Drew,
But don't remove the one for the mufflers, there is still a $200 fine if you
don't one. See the latest Two Wheels page 78 for the ad by the EPA (now
DEC).
Safe riding,

Bonnie T100 Centennial? Cops will all think its a 1968 model and wave
you through, maybe say "Nice restoration". They couldnt find their
arse with both hands. Now tell me how cleaned the sticky gunk off the
tank cause I dont want to stuff my Lucifer Orange paintwork either.

New Bonnies have it stamped onto the mufflers, its not a sticker.

couple...

I think they are now *telling* people about it.
Rather than just setting up the regs, and fining people. Now they are
setting up the regs, telling people then fining them.
