Actually, "timeOday" wrote that, not John.

That's "you", right? Ok, got that part.

Right. Simple expression of a viewpoint; no
rationale given.

> Yet John thinks it means I
> support riding without a helmet,

Nope, John thinks that you support helmet
laws and that you support the running of the
TT. And he believes that at the core, the
dangers inherent in both should be evaluated
by the persons involved.

He doesn't see why it's okay for a racer
to make a personal decision to assume more
risk, and yet not allow an individual
motorcyclist to make a similar decision
in a different context.

> and you think I mean there's a
> relationship between helmet laws and the TT.

No, I explicity said that you did _not_
believe that there was a linkage between
helmet laws and the TT. That's why I made
the flippant comment about fishing rights.

I'm with John and timeOday. I think being
pro-helmet-law and pro-TT is inconsistent.

Well, actually that's not the whole story.
My prior comment was actually not a dig at
you, but rather a realization that you were
trolling the septics. Again. I should know
better by now.

What was your goal for this thread?

200 posts?

> Your call.

At $5.99 for the first minute and $4.99
for all subsequent, I'm afraid that I'll
have to pass.

I'll try and keep this simple, as you're the second person who's
misunderstood the thread.

He said:-

"Do any of you who support helmet laws think the Isle of Man TT should
*not* be outlawed? I'd like to hear your rationale on that one."

I said "me"

That means: "yes, I support helmet laws, and I think the TT should not
be outlawed." It's not hard to understand. Yet John thinks it means I
support riding without a helmet, and you think I mean there's a
relationship between helmet laws and the TT.

Your call.

Ah. OK. I don't see there's any relationship at all, actually, which is

Oh Christ. No, I am *not* saying it's OK for someone to ride without a
helmet. I'm saying I support helmet laws and I think the TT should not
be outlawed.

Now go back, start again, read the questions again, read the answers
again.

Please explain why one is the government's business but the other is
not, instead of waffling and trying to insult people.

You're the one waffling. What on *earth* is the connection between
helmet laws, and racing?
