There I was at a stop light, on my way back from a short morning ride. This
guy pulls up in a Honda S2000 (5.9 seconds 0-60, blah, blah, blah). I blip
Baby Duc's throttle just to give him ample warning. Like a rattle snake, a
gentleman should not strike without warning.
The light turns green and he floors it. Oh, what a humiliating experience
for the poor soul. I barely gave Baby Duc some gas and it was no contest.
What a treat!! Now, I don't enjoy humiliating people but I loved the
opportunity to hear that SOUND. There is nothing like a Ducati at full chat.
Well I hope he learned a lesson. A Baby Duc can eat just about any sports
car under $300,000 for lunch. Yum! >> Stay informed about: Great Lunch! |

Ah, that explains it. He fell asleep and his little sports car lunged
forward at a furioius (for a little sports car) pace. LOLROTF.

Really? Of course you are being facetious. IMHO what happened was not at
all "impressive." Just had to teach a cager a lesson. This happens quite
often if you ride in town.

Any sportbike can beat a car. I happen to own a s2000 yea it's faster than
the average car but nothing compared to a sportbike. However, how about a
race with my dream viper listed below. He He He

Yes, just about any production sportsbike with more than 500cc engine
capacity can beat any production sports car, but the level of ignorance is
such that cagers still want to challenge us. Why?
Dream Viper? In that case I'll have to pick up my dream 999R with a couple
of minor, if any, mods and dust your "viper." Baby Duc will still eat your
production "viper" for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

I just say this 'cause it annoys me when one of those mid-life-crisis
guys in their sports car thinks I'm trying to race him when I'm on my bike.
I may take off at a fairly brisk pace compared to a car, and every once
in a while one of these guys seems to think he has something to prove
(this scenario is the exact opposite of yours). I'm not going past
7K rpm on my little I-4 and this guy has the hammer down. I'm just
thinking to myself "OK, does he think we are racing, and more
importantly, I hope there are no cops around who think we are racing?"
Facing the reckless driving and who knows how many points on my
license because of that cop I didn't see doesn't seem to be worth it
just to leave some dude in the dust showing him what I already knew.
The risk to reward ratio is a bit high compared to something like simple
speeding.

Try that with a Acura NSX and you wont be so lucky,
nothing like the sound of a VTEC at full gallop......

whatever, i can give an NSX a run for it's money in my station wagon, let
alone on a bike.
the only car i've ever seen come close to keeping up with my falco was a
Ferrari 360 Modena. for $150k more than an average sportbike, it better be
fast.

I am not sure what the big deal is. Even my NX650 Dual-Sport will accelerate
faster than most cars.

Uh... the S2000 also has a Honda VTEC engine. So, aside from being heavier,
how is the NSX very different?
