I guess the result wasn't too surprising considering he has been
fastest all weekend, but Stoner didn't seemed that bothered about the
session, he went out did a lap or 2 then went back in again,
eventually pulled fastest lap made one more attempt to better it then
called it a day. He just got though, Pedrosa 2nd and only 0.004 secs
behind, a good recovery from a disappointing session this morning.
Melandri 3rd and only a whisker away too. Rossi in 6th, needless to
say he will be on the ball tomorrow though. A real shame for Hayden
14th but only 0.767 secs off pole, I doubt he will really factor in
the race.
I see it been battled out by Stoner, Rossi, Pedrosa and Melandri with
Hoppers hanging on to the lead bunch as usual and gradually drifting
back in the latter stages.
My pick, Stoner, Melandri, Rossi, Pedrosa. It really depends on how
tyres last more than anything and Rossi could possibly preserve his
tyres better and be able to ride on spent tyres better but thats my
pick.

I'm not sure I'd call any of almost the whole field a dud. Old Alex
Hoffmann is 16th, only 4/5 of a second back. Only the last three qualifiers
(Fabrizio, Tamada and Kurtis R) are beyond 1 s. Heck, Kurtis is only 1.835
seconds behind, on a dry track.
I think this is the closest qualifying I've ever seen (I recall being
anazed with 10 within a second; with 16?).

For sure Doc, I expect it to be, as you guys say, a cracker. Though I
wouldn't be surprised if Hayden gets "medieval" on the first couple of laps
and if Marco doesn't do something "spectacular" as well. That said, Rossi
knows Casey's the guy to beat, this one has all the ingredients of a great
race. We'll see... >> Stay informed about: Germany Qual spoiler |

Yup, extremely close, and not clear where the edges are, with bike and
tire makes scattered in the field. But of course I think I found the answer:
Row Average Rider Weight
1 127 ponds
2 148 pounds
3 140 pounds
4 142 pounds
5 152 pounds
It's the second row that's out of order, but that has Hopkins at 158
pounds, which I think is overstated (the Laguna program last year had
him at 140 pounds, which would drop the row average to 142), it has the
amazing Rossi, of course, and it has the #1s for three of the five
factory teams.
Shocker. >> Stay informed about: Germany Qual spoiler |

I question if Melandri can hold on to a top 5 spot. We will see.
Unfortunately, I think you may be right about Hopper. Regardless, it should
be a great race. >> Stay informed about: Germany Qual spoiler |

Grrr... Anyone else having problems getting Eurosport live[1]
commentary? I can hear the sound on their videos, but the live-audio
window remains mute.
Any other net source of commentary? Given it's the Sachsenring
I guess I should see if RTL has an audio feed.
[1] It's actually 15-20 seconds behind, as you can see by following motogp
live timing along with the audio.

Looks like it's a yahoo thing -- sites still independent of yahoo.com
are working: Russian and French (maybe Chinese too, I couldn't work out their
live-audio link...)
Speaking of French, I watched the last 250 race in Switzerland; the
Swiss commentators were calling Thomas Luthi "Tom-Tom".

The French have a way with words:
"Rossi est sur le tapis!" -- Rossi is on the carpet!
"Il est venu! Il est venu!" -- He has come, he has come! (Hayden passing
Edwards.)
Is Pedrosa supreme or is Stoner riding for the championship?

Oops, just after I posted that I saw that Melandri and Capi had
caught up...
