Back in the days when "he who shall not be named" was in full delusional
mode, I posted this as a way any attorneys who wished to verify who I was,
get my address, discuss issues, etc etc, could contact me. The exact sig
line I used was
For attorneys who are coherent
303@803@5247
in the hopes that the @ symbol wouldn't make it a spammers delight. I
thought I would mention that this phone hasn't been called by anyone I
posted the number for ( of course ), but it has found its way into mass
mailing advertising, I've been called by at least 2 real estate agents who
thought I wanted to buy a home in Maryland, and a few other odds and ends.
I didn't post this more than what, maybe a dozen or two times during the
beginning of August? And I thought I disguised it well enough that auto-bots
looking for phone numbers wouldn't be able to notice it much.
Just a warning to others who might think that posting a real live phone
number on the web does more than attract spammers and slime, even when its
MEANT for same. >> Stay informed about: General warning to users... |

And yet those who think they're "brave" by posting their real names on
chat sites continue to wonder why us "scardy cats" use handles.
In any event, you can tell the realtors to call ~kurt. Bout time that
boy got the dick outta his hands and got him a place where he can use
those hands to mow grass and trim schrubs. >> Stay informed about: General warning to users... |

Hackers can still find out who you are and where you work and the
names of your relatives if they want to spend a few hours time putting
all the clues together from messages you posted. >> Stay informed about: General warning to users... |

I think it'd take more than a few hours and it depends completely on
how open the person is about their life. That beats the hell out of
simply opening the phonebook and finding someone's address. Then it's
only a matter of time before that person posts their hotel travel
plans to the newsgroup and some nefarious type slips into their home
and absconds with their collection of AMA superstar autographs.
Can you imagine how many long, hot lines were stood in to get these
famous signatures, well do ya, huh? >> Stay informed about: General warning to users... |

And everyone who replied to you essentially reposted it. Try googling it
with the dashes. You might be surprised at the hits. >> Stay informed about: General warning to users... |

And this is where we start to diverge. People have become delusional
all right, but more about what they can afford. Fell and I are both
in our early 40s and have our pads paid off. You can bet we didn't
buy 4000 sq ft houses with vaulted ceilings either.
Most people today wouldn't have the house I grew up in for a garage.

The problem is that even more reasonable houses also are beyond
overpriced. I actually looked into buying a house when I still lived in
Florida as I got tired of paying rent. I quickly gave up.
The cheapest I was able to find was around $120,000 for complete utterly
termite ridden pieces of shits that were about to collapse.
For something that a human being could actually live in was running about
200k and higher for something the size of my 1 bedroom apartment I had.
Who can pay those kinds of prices?

Orlando Area, I don't remember the exact locations of the houses.

Yea they are ridiculously high. Not worried about it right now though, I
don't plan on staying in FL for more than a couple years at best.
Essentially just ending back up there due to work reasons and it being a
better alternative than the middle of nowhere I am living right now.

I look at it this way. I put down $5k on my first house (a 3/2) paid less
in PITI than rent for a comparable house, sold it after 5 yrs and left
closing with over $12k in my pocket after the mortgage was paid off. All
the while getting a tax write off on the interest. Sure, I had maintenance
costs along the way, but no big ticket items. Just normal maintenance
because it was new.
Still, if I was single I'd probably live in an apartment with a pool with
lots of smoking hot bitches hanging around it. It'd be ground floor and I'd
park my bike inside. Less mowing and more riding. >> Stay informed about: General warning to users... |
