Gasoline spewing out exhaust manifold

It was quite a surprise to see gasoline spewing out of the exhaust
manifold when it's running. Yamaha 750 Virago 1982.
Been having problems with only being able to idle.
When I use the throttle it dies.

Any ideas why?/how? will be appreciated.

I do plan to take it the 90 miles to the nearest Yamaha dealer
when I get time.

Sounds like stuck float(s). Tap on the side of each carb with something that
won't damage the carb and that should knock it loose. Long term solution will
be to disassemble and clean the carbs.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
