it isn't. I've no idea who Peter Wood is either. I do know (and have
met) the person I've emailed - I just didn't know who he worked for[1]

Question to the house: it is unethical to use an email address
obtained in this manner for personal gain...

For me, I've spotted someone on the list who works for a company which
sells a product I'd quite like and was wondering whether any discounts
were available...
