Anyone going to Brands on Sunday? - For the BSB. Only I've got a spare ticket I'll let go cheap. Like 15 quid (25 quid on the gate). You'll have to collect it tonight from me in SW London, or RV at Clacket Lane. For those who already have tickets - anyone going to be sitting round..

You'll have noted that the number of spare knickers was not specified.

It's not just the amount, though, but the method. Everything has to be
laid out in piles, usually on the bed, before then being packed into
one of the several possible backs got out and tried for size. So I
just wait the hour or two until jude's got all her piles out, check
she's "finished", then add a little pile of my own and let her pack it
as she sees fit.

When I'm going away on my own, it's usually just a question of picking
up the required number of socks, undies, Tee-shirts, a spare pair of
jeans and possibly a change of footwear. Takes about ten minutes,
tops, and that includes hunting through the cupboards to find where my
boots have been buried.

I use the other method - put it in a pile on the bed and Cheryl packs
it..

Sure, it's always a hassle, but I find if I do the piles thing then I
can't be sure if something's packed or not. Putting the case/bag on
the bed and putting the piles straight into it makes much more sense -
quite apart from the efficiencies involved with fewer dat transfer,
sorry, clothes moving operations, it makes it much easier to be sure
that something is packed.

When the other method is used, I'm often going to be in the situation
of thinking "I wonder if X got packed? I know it was in a pile on the
bed, but did it get rejected before the pile was packed?"

My Mrs does that, but mainly so that once *I'm* ready to do the packing
(?), she can check everything off the list.

I've changed things over as I was fed up with getting stuff dry cleaned.
Generally it was only the trousers anyway, because the jacket just gets
worn when I'm cold, and it's left at the office overnight, and taken home
at weekends to swap.

When my last pair of trousers needed replacing, I simply bought 3 pairs of
machine washable trousers that just happened to match the jacket. Saves a
fortune it does.

I'd turn up but the 10R is laid up for the winter, the BMW is a turd
and the KTM isn't run in yet.

You won't be pleased to know that I do something similar to this.

I always overpack. I don't know why but I always do. I wish I could
learn not to.

Sounds like a prime opportunity to get on with running in the KTM or
have a day out on a turd.

heh. But on the contrary, I'm not at all dismayed to find that we
show the same, obviously sensible, behaviour.

Ah, that's not a problem I have. More often I underpack. On one
occasion, heading south on a bike through France to the Bol D'Or
(wearing leathers), I had to stop at a supermarket to buy some jeans,
as I'd forgotten to pack some.
