What difference does that make?

If you have a reasonably modern car, an LPG conversion is worth the 800-
1000 quid outlay as it'll pay for itself in no time. I ran a Renault for
I don't know how long (probably only a few months) and the best fuel
return I remember was filling up with LPG at Warwick services, going to
Birmingham and then filling up again on the M4 at Heston and it cost me
just over 6 quid. Six pound seventeen to be precise.

Where did you get that info from? I thought LPG gave worse MPG than petrol.
For example,
http://www.boostlpg.co.uk/driver_industry/Fuel%20saving%206.htm says
" This calculator is based on a typical MPG "loss" of 20% on Autogas
compared to petrol (the energy in a litre of Autogas is less than in a
litre of Petrol.)"

*Ding*
My old Landie[1] gave slightly worse consumption on LPG than petrol.
[1] Admittedly, not the most sophisticated setup on the planet.

No, I'm saying less weight is better. A 350bhp car ought to be a lot
quicker than that.
But I'm going to resist criticising your car further until you've
completed doing a favour for me with it

http://www.arunautogas.co.uk/lpg_conversion_bmw.htm
My fault, I didn't quite read it right - it says it returns 30mpg
which, given the price of Autogas, is *equivalent* of 60mpg.
But that's still pretty impressive.

You also have to factor in the cost of the kit, it's not as cheap as folk
think.

That's only for people who don't read the small print.

Indeed. It's actually half the cost per mpg, not twice the MPG. A lot of
companies do advertise it as double your MPG, but that's just wrong.
LPG as a vehicle fuel does have a few advantages though, not the least
its high octane value...
