Not to take credit away gfrom Stoner, who I think is a fantastic rider who
has shown how much maturity one can win through a rough year. *But* he has
the Ducati-Bridgestone thing going for him thus far this year.

It may be an ufair call, it's simply based on his track record and the fact
he was never this dominant before. If he wins 2 MotoGP world titles, we'll
all remove our doubts in hindsight and go, oh hech, he realy was *that*
good. It's the way it goes.

And don't write off Hayden. I think he remains one of the most methodical
and consistent riders in MotoGP. I don't believe he had a bike advantage
against the rest of the field (as thus far I suspect Stoner does) and yet
through consistency, grit and smart he won the title. The field is so
competitive now and going forward that I'd be willling to offer 3:1 odds
that Hayden will win another title within the next 4 years.

Yes. He's still got to ride it though.

I don't think I can wait that long. Guess I need an email from the
future to remind me.

A MotoGP title? I'll take that bet. But, I'd be very surprised if
Hayden gets four years to try in.

Hmm, really? Please, by all means, clarify. By the way, I don't take Euro's,
pound sterliing's and dollars only and I'd be more than happy to grab some
of yours...

Well, let's make sure that we've got the 3:1 the right way round
first. And, also, let's make sure we specify it's a MotoGP title.

Happy to put 50 dollars of mine against 150 of yours on that bet.

People who don't win the title are even less "deserving" of the championship

I am pretty sure he will. Unless he freely chooses to throw in the towel,
which he does not inclined to do.

Bet's on I guess. I am convinced to the core Hayden has the fundamental
qualities: methodical and measured approach, smart, and yet the ability to
really be aggressive when circumstances demand it and something is truly at
stake.

He'll have a much better streak on a bike that suits him better. He was not
on the podium almost every time last year by chance. He is an outstanding
rider. The tragedy is that he is in an outstanding team that got a
dysfcuntionally developed and arrogantly enginnered bike this year. It
sucks, but I am certain insiders know his qualities, and that's why the
likes of Ducati entertain him for dinner and present him with a one off bike
he'll be able to auction off in 5 years for a million to some rich dumbass.
